2024 Yarra Valley Pinot Noir
Single Vineyard | Low Extraction
ABV: 13.2% | pH: 3.7 | TA: 5.5 g/L | Yeast: Wild | Clone: MV6 | Vine Age: 20 years
Appearance
Translucent ruby with a youthful crimson edge.
Aroma
Lifted and perfumed, showing red cherry, raspberry, and wild strawberry alongside subtle florals of rose petal and violets. Gentle spice and savoury forest floor notes emerge with air, reflecting both vine age and wild fermentation.
Palate
Silky and finely layered thanks to the low-extraction approach. Bright red fruits lead the way, underpinned by earthy complexity, hints of dried herbs, and subtle spice. The acidity (pH 3.7, TA 5.5) is soft and harmonious, giving freshness without sharpness. Tannins are fine, powdery, and understated, allowing the fruit purity of MV6 to shine.
Finish
Elegant, persistent, and mineral-driven, with lingering notes of cherry skin, spice, and a gentle savoury edge.
Style & Cellaring
A refined, site-expressive Pinot Noir—fragrant, textural, and unforced. Beautifully drinkable now, but will evolve gracefully over 5–8 years, gaining depth and savoury complexity.
